About me.

My background

Hello, my name is Elena and I own Canine Care Behaviour. I always wanted to set up my own behavioural practice to diagnose and treat emotional and behavioural problems in companion dogs, in addition to supporting and helping owners to develop the skills they need to build strong bonds with their canine companions. My career started many years ago when I worked for a large dog rehoming charity, caring for, rehabilitating and rehoming stray and unwanted dogs. My love and passion for our wonderful canine friends though really started long before my work in rescue, as a 4 year old walking our greyhounds with my father. We are all dog lovers in my family but it was my father who taught me to respect dogs and this has shaped my philosophy and approach to the work I do.

I have met some amazing and challenging dogs through my previous career in rescue, my current work with clients as well as adopting and rehabilitating my own. I currently share my home with two adopted sighthounds, who have both had a number of behavioural issues, including severe reactivity towards other dogs. I therefore have personal and professional experience together with academic training.

Of course I must not forget the regular visitor to our home, an energetic fox terrier, who comes for play sessions and sleepovers. He certainly keeps all family members, both human and canine, busy.
